End of Life Care International supports hospices in India where there are very few cancer facilities. There is little time or space in India’s overburdened hospitals for the care of the terminally ill. Every year tens of thousands of cancer patients will die agonizing deaths without medicine, symptomatic care or support.
In India, the palliative care for cancer patients that does exist is mostly for the privileged and reaches only a small minority of individuals who live in poverty. We focus on and fund effective hospices which primarily care for impoverished terminally ill individuals and their families.
